Burnout Check
Twelve questions. Be honest.
A note: This check is for self-awareness, not diagnosis. Burnout isn't a medical condition you diagnose yourself -- it's a pattern you notice. If you're struggling, talk to a therapist or your doctor, or call 988.
What this checks (and what it doesn't)
This check measures three dimensions of burnout identified by Christina Maslach's research:
Exhaustion -- the "I have nothing left" feeling. Not just tired. Depleted. The kind of tired that sleep doesn't fix.
Cynicism -- the "I don't care anymore" feeling. Detachment. Going through the motions. Shorter fuse with everyone around you.
Reduced efficacy -- the "nothing I do matters" feeling. Self-doubt. Feeling like you're failing at everything even when you're not.
This isn't a clinical assessment. It's a mirror. What you do with what you see is up to you.
